The Cotswold Company plans to open 12th showroom

The Cotswold Company, the digitally-led premium handcrafted furniture and homeware brand, has announced that it will be launching its 12th UK showroom in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, in March. The new showroom will create six new jobs.

Founded in 1996 in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Cotswold Company sells thoughtfully designed, carefully crafted premium furniture and accessories through a digital-led omni-channel model. Working in tandem with specialist manufacturers and employing traditional woodworking techniques, all products are built to last.

Located in a favourable position on Harpenden’s vibrant high street, the new showroom will showcase The Cotswold Company’s bestselling furniture collections, including its timeless living, dining, and bedroom ranges. Offering an immersive in-store experience, the Harpenden showroom will also offer a full-service accessories shop and a fully integrated Upholstery Hub. This will enable customers to browse a wide range of full-length fabric options and styles – creating opportunities for them to find the perfect upholstery products for their homes.

The new showroom comes on the back of a period of significant strategic progress for The Cotswold Company. In recent weeks, it has celebrated the opening of its 11th showroom located in Marlow, closed a strong Christmas trading period in which it outperformed the broader market, and became a B Corp certified business reflecting its values-driven approach. In late 2024, the Cotswold Company also agreed partnerships to list with Next and John Lewis Partnership, strengthening its omnichannel proposition.

As it looks to scale its position in the UK, the Cotswold Company is looking to open additional stores in strategically important locations – such as Harpenden – that offer opportunities to leverage its hyper-localised digital marketing expertise to drive brand awareness and advocacy.

Ralph Tucker, Chief Executive Officer at the Cotswold Company, said: “We’re excited to announce plans to launch our next showroom in Harpenden. We believe this will create a fantastic opportunity for us to strengthen our position in the Home Counties and move more customers towards high-quality, made to last furniture.

“2024 was a strong year for us. We opened a new showroom in Stamford, became a certified B-Corp organisation, and outperformed the furniture and homeware market during the key Christmas trading period. This year, we plan to build on this progress and remain focused on delivering sustainable growth, opening new showrooms and investing in digital marketing, product and brand to make the Cotswold Company the premium furniture brand of choice.”
