Independent furniture business Benim Furniture has announced the opening of its new store in Bradford.

Situated on Market Street, the new store features items including beds, mattresses, bedside cabinets, coffee tables, sofas and much more.

The business, which launched four years ago online, previously occupied a store in Stanningley but decided to relocate to a new central shopping destination.

Owner Ibrahim Eryatmaz said that Bradford Council has helped regarding business rates, some 50% lower than its former Leeds premises.

Ibrahim also hopes that having a better located physical presence will compliment its online store, adding that supporting local highstreets is needed for independents to survive and thrive.

“People go online because they have no time – working, sleeping, buying something – this is not life. Come to Bradford, help local businesses, get the real stuff. We have human feelings when we’re going into shops or talking to sellers. We’re here for them.”
