Furniture retailer exits Coventry store after seven years

Hardwood furniture retailer, Oak Furnitureland, has confirmed that its Coventry store has closed.

Situated at Central Six Retail Park, where it has traded since 2016, the store closed for the final time on 1 December 2023.

Oak Furnitureland said that it had been given notice by its landlord, with the closure set to impact five jobs.

The retailer said it is “considering options for an alternative location in Coventry”, while its priority right now is to “talk to the colleagues impacted” by the closure.

Following a planning application submitted to Coventry City Council, it is understood that the Salvation Army is set to takeover the store, which is currently under review.
