British brand to close US store

British furniture company Timothy Oulton has announced plans to close its store in Westport, USA.

Situated on 38 Main St, the store, which first opened in August 2022, will close for the final time on 31 March 2025.

The Timothy Oulton closure is the second British furniture brand to shut its doors on Main Street within the last year, following OKA, which closed in June 2024.

The company said that “high tariffs” being imposed on its goods was the main reason behind the decision to close.
