Nonwovens supplier returns to profit growth

Technical nonwovens supplier AMR Textiles has reported a slight decline in turnover as sales remained towards £30m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024, total sales fell 3.1% to £27.7m from £28.6m in 2023.

UK sales dipped 3.6% to £26.6m from £27.6m, while exports to the EU increased 10.4% to £1.1m from £996,000.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £2.2m, up from £498,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which supplies polyester and natural products to the high-end furniture and bedding industries as well as various other sectors, said: “Margins remained volatile due to the usual variations in raw material prices, exchange rates and increased energy costs and showed a decline this year to 17.9% from 10.9%.”
