Bensons opens debut Braintree store; launches first kids bed frames

National bed and mattress retailer Bensons for Beds has opened its first ever store in Braintree.

Bensons has moved to the Braintree Retail Park, next to Braintree Village, the popular outlet destination, and sees the retailer take a 4,241 square feet of trading space, employing five staff from the local area.

The new store, which opened on 20 September, has been expertly designed to showcase a huge range of beds and mattresses as it invests significantly in building a portfolio of brands that cater to every sleep need, with the majority being produced at its own manufacturing centre in Cambridgeshire.

Bensons for Beds’ own ranges, Simply by Bensons and Slumberland, are handcrafted to order in the UK at Bensons’ dedicated British Kitemark quality accredited factory in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Bensons Braintree manager, Tim Stanley said: “We are really excited about opening our first store in Braintree, and expanding the Bensons brand further in Essex. Bensons stands for great quality bed furniture for a lower price, and we can’t wait to open our doors to customers this weekend for them to explore the ranges we have on offer.

“Whether you’re a hot sleeper, an all-night mover or like that little bit of extra room, we have a wide selection of beds and mattresses to suit everyone’s individual sleep needs, and my team will be dedicated to giving our customers everything they need to wake up on the right side of the bed!”

Bensons has also launched its new collection, ‘SleepyTime’, an exclusive range of kids bed frames, for the very first time in the company’s history.

The six frames featured as part of the collection marry together vibrant design, exceptional comfort, and durable materials to create the perfect sleep environment for children aged from four years old, right through to teen years and young adulthood.

SleepyTime frames are designed to grow with kids as their bodies and sleep needs change, whilst all the time being pieces of furniture which give parents peace of mind and kids can be excited about having their bedrooms. The six frames include classic bunk beds and dreamy, plush headboards, boasting a range of styles to suit any bedroom and bring out a kid’s individual personality.

All the frames are rigorously tested to meet UK and EU Standards for growing kids, and to make sure the decoration is of course non-toxic, but also scratch and damage resistant, to take on all the wear and tear required of being part of a child’s bedroom. Built with the best quality materials but also easy to assemble, the six bedframes which feature in the SleepyTime range come with built-in storage options, adjustable heights, and designs for long lasting versatility.

Megan Thompson, Buyer at Bensons For Beds said: “We’re extremely proud of our new SleepyTime range, which has been crafted to not only support a good night’s sleep but also inspire creativity and joy in young minds. We know how important a good night’s sleep is, especially for children, so we wanted to bring our 70 years of bed expertise to ensure that this new range provides not only a comfortable and well supported night’s sleep, but also stylish and fun designs which any child (and parent) will want in their home.”
